Social media isn’t like traditional marketing. The old school practice of throwing the same thing at a customer over and over again until they bite doesn’t work on social media. Your page will actually stop showing up in your followers feeds if you play that game too much.
In order to keep the almighty algorithm happy you need to be really careful how much of your content is actually marketing material, remember you should always be aiming for an 80/20 content ratio. That’s 80% 'interesting to your followers' to 20% 'marketing material'. Here are some ideas that you can try to get your message out there without offending the Almighty Algorithm Gods. 💡excerpts from your blog 💡quotes that relate to your business 💡special day of… You may have noticed that trend already 💡Birthdays or anniversaries 💡support local businesses: as far as I’m concerned this one is win/win/win 💡review a book, tv show, movie or podcast that relates to your business 💡share a favourite song 💡recognize a day of the week 💡countdown to something 💡testimonials Social media is all about being SOCIAL. You want to showcase who you are, what you stand for and your expertise and when you do that, your page will show up more in your customers' feeds and give you the opportunity to showcase what you are selling. If you want some help with ideas on what you could/should be posting for your business, give me a shout. I'm happy to help.

Now that you’ve spent time and energy creating a blog, a newsletter, possibly a podcast or YouTube video it’s time to share it on social media, right? Easy peasy lemon squeasy on FaceBook, Twitter and Linkedin. Instagram is a whole other story. This is where Linktree comes in.
You can use a Linktree url in your profile page and have up to FIVE links in a FREE Linktree account. Just think of it, your website homepage, your blog page, a link to your podcast, your YouTube channel and maybe link to your latest newsletter. What about creating a featured product page? New real estate listings? A link to your updated menu? The possibilities are endless. Check out my Instagram page to see what a FREE account looks like. I’ve got my homepage listed, my latest blog posts and then a link to my blog page for older posts, that way if someone stumbles across an older blog post the link in my bio still takes them to the relevant page. It’s super easy to set up a Linktree url. 🌲go to the Linktree registration page 🌲fill in the appropriate information and click on register 🌲create your account and start adding links 🌲the link is displayed in the top right corner, copy that and use it as the link in your profile page PRO TIP: When you add or take away a link in Linktree you don’t have to update your Instagram page, just update your Linktree account, refresh and it’s updated on IG. If you need a hand creating a Linktree account, give me a shout, I'd love to help. |
