Content strategy is the planning, development, and management of content—written or in other media. It’s making all of your different kinds of marketing material work hard for you. Whether you are creating it yourself or outsourcing some or all of it, you want to get the biggest bang for your buck. Any content that is created for one medium can and SHOULD be used as fodder for other platforms. One blog post can be turned into several social media posts & a topic of a newsletter. Now not only are you helping with the SEO on your website, you’ve got fodder for your social media platform(s) and content for your newsletter.
As we all know, sending out a newsletter regularly isn’t easy, make it work for you. Share the entire newsletter on your social media channels when it comes out and then break it down & share different sections when you need fodder. Social media posts can make great filler content on your website and in your newsletters. Don’t forget your more traditional marketing material like neighbourhood signs, mail outs, really anything you are using to promote your business can be used in different marketing tools, saving you time and money. Use content from your website for your social media posts, filler in your newsletters and for traditional marketing too. Blog post = newsletter content = traditional marketing = social media fodder = website material = blog post = traditional marketing = blog post, you see where I’m going with this?
